Businesses, companies, activist organizations, and other community groups are hosting a variety of events and special deals to celebrate 4/20, the marijuana industry’s unofficial holiday.
Here’s a look at some of them:
Dispensary offers and events
Bask in Fairhaven (medical only)
Bask’s offers and events are for Earth Day celebrations, rather than 4/20.
Offers: Patients can take advantage of a variety of deals from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free blue spruce seedlings will be given to the first 250 visitors. The first 200 guests who bring at least 5 plastic shopping bags to be recycled can get a reusable shopping tote.
Events: Throughout the day on Saturday, there will be raffles, music, snacks, and meet-and-greets with various vendors.
Berkshire Roots in Pittsfield
Offers: Discounts on products will be offered to medical patients.
Events: From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, there will be live music and a farmer’s market near the dispensary. The farmer’s market will feature a variety of locally owned vendors, including a massage therapist and a yoga studio. The dispensary is also hosting an after-party at The Rusty Anchor in Pittsfield, starting at 9 p.m.
Cultivate in Leicester
Offers: Medical patients can get a $1 pre-roll with a $200 purchase.
Events: There will be a DJ at the dispensary both on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, accompanied by a barbecue food truck on Saturday and Sunday.
New England Treatment Access in Brookline and Northampton
Offers: Medical patients can get 20 percent off all edibles.
Events: Customers will have an opportunity to sample free food from local restaurants and vendors outside NETA’s dispensaries on Saturday.
Revolutionary Clinics in Cambridge and Somerville (Medical only)
Offers: Medical patients will be offered special deals and discounts in the week leading up to April 20, including the holiday.
Events: Celebrations on Friday and Saturday in both Cambridge and Somerville will include DJs, free catered food, and raffles.
Temescal Wellness in Hudson and Pittsfield
Offers: Customers can save 20 percent on all accessories, including vaporizers, pipes, bongs, and tools, from Thursday to Saturday.
Other community events
All events are on Saturday, unless otherwise noted.
Host: Bill’s Bar and Lounge
Where: 5 Lansdowne St. in Boston
When: 12 p.m. to 4:20 p.m.
What: Bill’s Bar and Lounge will have live reggae music and will serve CBD cocktails. The event page says customers should “bring the munchies” because they are “bringing you the brunchies.”
Boston Common Photo Meet-Up
Host: Home Grown Boston
Where: Parkman Bandstand in the Boston Common
When: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
What: Meet at the Parkman Bandstand to meet others and take photos as you celebrate.
Host: Mass Cannabis Chefs
When: 6 p.m.
What: Mass Cannabis Chefs will be serving a multi-course dinner with infused items. Vegetarian options and non-infused versions of the meal will be available.
Dinner at Mary’s (cannabis-infused dinner)
Host: Sam Kanter Events
Where: Downtown Boston (location announced to guests ahead of event)
When: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
What: The “mix-and-mingle” style event will include appetizers and food stations where people can choose their dosage of THC and CBD infused food.
Cost: Suggested donation of $125. Attendees must apply for membership to the group prior to buying tickets.
Host: UMass Amherst Cannabis Reform Coalition
Where: Three County Fairgrounds in Northampton
When: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
What: The 28th annual Extravaganja will include music, speakers, and vendors of all kinds. It is considered one of the “largest and oldest cannabis political rallies in the Northeast,” according to event organizers.
Flower to the People Fest
Host: The Creative Zone
Where: Secret location, given to attendees after sign-up
When: 10:30 a.m. to 3 a.m.
What: The all-day festival includes a roundtable discussion on social consumption, “puff & pose” yoga, multiple comedy shows, private reiki and massage sessions, and live music.
Kush Groove Edibles Competition
Host: Kush Groove
Where: 35 South Huntington Avenue in Mission Hill
When: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
What: Ten edible chefs will compete for cash prizes and a trophy. Attendees will get to sample the meals and judge the chefs on a scorecard. Kush Groove is also hosting a paint and edibles event on Friday and a brunch party on Sunday. Check their website for more information.
