Boston-12/15/2007- Runners head down Boylston Street at the start of the annual Santa Speedo Run where runners dressed in not much else but speedos and Santa hats, were cheek to cheek at the start. Several hundred runners braved the twenty-something degree temperatures to run the course through the Back Bay. 12/9/2017 - Boston, MA - Several hundred half-naked, yet festive, runners gathered on Bolyston street for the the 18th annual SSRun - known as the Santa Speedo Run. Over the past 18 years, the SSRun has raised over $1.5 million for various local children’s charities. As of 2012, the SSRun became aligned to the individual cause of raising money for the Play Ball! Foundation, which provides Boston middle school students with a chance to play, and build friendships and character through the lessons of sports - teamwork, communication and discipline.
