Chelsea police are looking for suspects and a small red or maroon SUV in connection with a shooting there late Monday, with multiple vehicles and at least one home hit by bullets.
The shooting took place in the area of Lawrence Street, a block-long residential lane between Tudor Street and Clark Avenue, where 27 to 30 shots were fired, Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes said in a phone interview Tuesday morning.
“Thankfully, nobody was injured. That’s certainly the first time that I can ever remember that that many rounds were fired” in Chelsea, Kyes said.
The area is adjacent to the Clark Avenue School. Kyes said investigators believe another vehicle may have been involved in the shooting and may have fled the area.
As of Tuesday morning, police had some leads in the case but had not yet made any arrests, Kyes said.
Police ask anyone with information to call Chelsea Police at 617-466-4835.
