A Melrose man was fatally injured early Tuesday when the Mercedes Benz he was driving veered off Interstate 495 and bounced off a guardrail before crashing in a wooded median with such force that the driver was ejected from the car, State Police said.
The driver was identified as Phong Le, 41, of Melrose.
State Police said Le was behind the wheel of a 2011 Mercedes Benz around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when his car veered off the road, struck a guardrail, and then traveled into the median south of Exit 28 in Boxborough. Trooper Benjamin Breton found the car and Le in the median around 1:35 a.m.
Le, who had been ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
