Stephen King’s “Pet Sematary” will rise again at the closing night of the 2019 South by Southwest Film Festival. SXSW announced the lineup on Wednesday.
Directed by Kevin Kolsch and Denis Widmyer, this is the second adaptation of King’s horror story, which was published as a novel in 1983. The story follows Louis and Rachel Creed (played by Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz ) as they move their two children from Boston to Maine. There, the family discovers a pet cemetery where they bury their cat, only to see him resurrected. Things don’t improve from there.
Other films scheduled to premiere at SXSW include Jordan Peele’s “Us,” Abe Forsythe’s “Little Monsters,” and Michael Chaves’s “The Curse of La Llorana. The 2019 South by Southwest Film Festival will take place in Austin, Texas, from March 8-16.
