If you haven’t swilled from an ice luge since college, you can change that on Sunday, Feb. 24, in a slightly more upscale setting. Harvard Square’s Harvest restaurant (44 Brattle St.) hosts an annual Winter Ice Party on its verdant heated patio, which beats a musty frat house.
DJ Ryan Brown spins tunes while bartenders serve Harpoon beer and Maker’s Mark whiskey from a luge — poured into cups, not directly into gaping maws — paired with homemade pretzels, bacon-wrapped scallops, and a dessert bar. Nothing goes with whiskey quite like doughnuts and macaroons.
Proceeds benefit Furnishing Hope of Massachusetts, which helps families transitioning out of homelessness. A portion of ticket sales go toward providing those families with furniture and household goods. The festivities begin at 6 p.m.; book seats, $55, by calling 617-868-2255.Kara Baskin can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
