Head west before Labor Day — west to Worcester, that is. The 72 Shrewsbury Street restaurant building hosts its first annual Summer at ’72 block party on Sunday, Aug. 26.
Head to the parking lot for fried chicken and bibimbap from acclaimed Korean-American spot Simjang, tacos from Deadhorse Hill, sausages and pizza from Volturno, and raw oysters from Island Creek. Importantly, there’s a rose wine bar with slushies and sorbet floats, plus beers from the on-site Wormtown Brewery’s keg van.
There’s also an appearance by local band the Blue Light Bandits, tunes from DJ Chuck Chillin, and a dunk tank. Humiliation is best set to music, after all.
Guests can also register to compete in a cornhole tournament. Sign up for $60 at www.eventbrite.com. Entry to the block party is free, and it lasts from noon until 9 p.m.Kara Baskin can be reached at email@example.com
